Low-pain techniques
Low-pain techniques at the dentist
Specialization in modern methods
Dr. Mees is a pioneer in Europe in the field of periodontology and a proven expert in the fields of implantology and oral surgery.
His wide-ranging training and further education abroad has familiarized him with innovative methods and state-of-the-art technologies that are less common in Europe. One example of this is the LANAP method. This has been used successfully in the USA for a decade, while it is still comparatively little known in Europe.
LANAP method
Laser application
The LANAP method is an advanced dental treatment technique. It is a laser application for the gentle and precise treatment of gum disease and the regeneration of tissue in the mouth and jaw area.
Dental treatment of periodontitis with the LANAP method is much gentler and less painful than with previous methods. It has been used successfully in the USA for over twenty years (ADA-certified) and is widely used there. In Europe, PraxisMees is the leader with this technology and the practice with the longest experience.
Our laser is used to gently open and treat the gums . Subsequently, unwanted bacteria and deposits on the tooth are removed using an ultrasonic sequence. The wound is then closed precisely using a special laser setting. Unlike the conventional method, the treatment is carried out completely without a scalpel or stitches.
The entire procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is virtually painless. It is possible to leave the practice immediately after the procedure, although a certain amount of rest and precautionary measures are recommended in the days following. A final check-up takes place in our practice after ten days, during which further treatment is individually coordinated and agreed.
In the case of foreign clients, the treating dentist in the home country will be instructed accordingly.
Endoret® technology
Method for healing injuries and promoting tissue regeneration
Endoret technology, also known as prgf® (plasma rich in growth factors), is an advanced method of producing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a patient’s own blood. PRP is a substance with a high concentration of platelets (thrombocytes) containing growth factors and other proteins. These can promote the healing and regeneration of tissues.
The 100 % autologous concentrate is obtained from a small amount of the patient’s blood and is used for tooth extractions, implant treatments, patients with bone loss and periodontal defects, among other things.
The method is used in various medical specialties, for example in ophthalmology, vascular surgery, orthopaedics or oral and maxillofacial surgery and for the treatment of osteonecrosis.
Advantages of Endoret technology
- Accelerated wound healing
- Reduction of inflammation and risk of infection
- Greater freedom from pain
Digital volume tomography (DVT)
Three-dimensional, imaging tomography procedure
Digital volume tomography (with us 80x80mm) is a three-dimensional, imaging tomography procedure.
With the help of this modern technology, different sectional images can be generated to ensure the best possible planning for an upcoming procedure.
It is primarily used in ear, nose and throat medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery and dentistry.
Digital impression with intraoral scanner
Digital impression of the teeth
Thanks to the digital impression , unpleasant tray impressions are finally a thing of the past.
No more unpleasant taste in your mouth, no more gagging or uncomfortable pressure. A scanner creates a three-dimensional image of your teeth. In addition to comfort, the method also offers greater precision and better individualization of the restoration.
During treatment, the scanned data serves as a basic model for the fabrication of accurately fitting crowns, implant crowns and bridges. The data can be viewed on the screen, edited in real time and adjusted if necessary. The scan can be forwarded directly online to our dental technician. This prevents damage to the material during transportation and also saves time during processing.
