Permanent replacement for missing teeth

Dentures are not just an issue for the older generation.

Sports accidents, failed root canal treatments or previous periodontal disease (periodontitis) are possible reasons for premature tooth loss.

What is dental implantology?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots

Implantology is an area of dentistry that deals with the use of dental implants. Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are inserted into the jawbone to replace missing teeth. They are indistinguishable from natural teeth in appearance and give the affected person back a beautiful and self-confident smile.

How many teeth does an implant solution cover?

Single teeth, posterior teeth or complete dentures

Implants can be the ideal therapy for single tooth replacement, in the edentulous posterior region and for complete denture wearers. They come very close to the appearance of natural teeth and, unlike the classic solution, can be used as a bridge tooth replacement without damaging other teeth.

All-on-4® – the better “third teeth”

Bite heartily into your crusty bread in the morning, even with your third teeth

We offer you new, fixed third teeth in a quick solution on just 4 implants. On these abutments we attach a bridge with your new teeth that look and feel like natural teeth.

The new All-on-4 technique is ideal for patients who:

  • give up their favorite food because they find it difficult to chew.
  • hold their hand in front of their mouth when they laugh so as not to show the gaps.
  • worry that the prosthesis will slip when speaking.
  • only have a few teeth left in their mouth.
  • who are told by their dentist that they will lose their teeth but that a full denture is not an option for them.

Laugh carefree again and show your teeth in meetings again!

Treatment procedure

The best result thanks to the latest technology and more than 10 years of experience

  • Clinical and imaging assessment (3-dimensional X-ray in our practice): After the assessment, the various options are determined.
  • Planning: Once the decision for an implant has been made, the planning begins.
  • Quick start of treatment: If there is enough bone in the tooth region, treatment can start quite quickly.
  • Insertion of the implant and healing time: After insertion of the implant, it usually takes 3 to 6 months to heal and is thentested for its resilience using resonance frequency analysis.
  • Positioning of the artificial tooth: If the load-bearing capacity of the implant is satisfactory and the digital impression has been taken, the artificial tooth can be positioned in the next session and can then hardly be distinguished from natural teeth.

The challenges of dental implants

Implantology – dental implants are artificial tooth roots

In some cases, the insertion of implants in patients with insufficient jaw bone volume and/or bone height cannot be performed without prior measures.

If we detect such bone loss, we start by gently building up the required structure before the actual insertion can begin.

If an implantation were to take place without this necessary preparatory work, it would inevitably result in the loss of the implant after one to two years.

When making such a decision, be sure to seek competent and serious advice.

Although dental implants offer many advantages, there are also some potential disadvantages to consider.

On the one hand, implantation requires a surgical procedure that can be associated with risks such as infection, pain and swelling.

Furthermore, implant placement can be difficult in patients with insufficient jaw bone volume, which may require additional bone augmentation measures.

The cost of dental implants is usually higher than other tooth replacement options because it is a complex treatment. In addition, implant restoration is a time-consuming process that can take several months.

There is also a risk of implant failure, where the implant does not heal properly or becomes loose. Good oral hygiene and regular follow-up care are therefore essential.

In addition, implants may not be suitable for every patient, especially in certain medical conditions. A careful assessment by an implantologist is therefore crucial to determine individual suitability.

Low-pain treatments

In our practice, we attach great importance to making the patient feel comfortable. This includes working with as little pain as possible.

We work with aparticularly low-pain motor-driven anesthesia technique and offer our patients treatment with nitrous oxide. We also use gentle laser therapy whenever possible and navigated surgery where appropriate.
