Digital volume tomography (DVT) is an imaging procedure used in dentistry for the three-dimensional representation of structures in the mouth and jaw area. This is an advanced form of computer tomography (CT)<\/b> that is specially tailored to the needs of dental examinations<\/b>. In contrast to conventional X-rays, which only provide two-dimensional images, CBCT enables detailed imaging of the teeth, jaw, maxillary sinuses, paranasal sinuses, nerves and other anatomical structures in three dimensions<\/b>. During a CBCT examination, the patient is placed in a special X-ray tube<\/b> that swivels around the patient’s head. During the pan, several X-ray images<\/b> are taken from different angles<\/b>.
